You all know I'm all about #deathpositivity 💀🖤 so when @typeonatasha launched these gorgeous prints, I was her first customer!! I'm absolutely in love 😍 thank you so much x (book in background is The Empire of Death ☠)
💀 🌹 🖤
It was feeling slightly more spring-like outside today, so I celebrated with a flower crown 🌹 I also filmed a video which will be up in the next few days 🖤
Finally got around to reading this. It's always mentioned in witchy communities and I've had it on my shelf for years! I'm finding it odd so far, it's taking me right back to the start of my pagan journey and reminding me of why I came to this whole thing in the first place. This came at the perfect time as I've been feeling overwhelmingly lost in my practice lately. However, there are so many sweeping generalisations about 'what witches believe' that I do find myself getting a bit defensive/ annoyed. Examples include the wiccan rede and 'real witches don't hex.' Not to mention the historical inaccuracies. However, because I am reasonably well read in witchcraft, I can sift through the BS and just genuinely enjoy this friendly and well written book, that is grounding me and bringing me a lot of joy.
I wrote this devotional piece as part of my MA collection following the Major Arcana of the tarot. 🧙‍♀️
'Elder is gloriously and unapologetically witchy. Its blossoms are fragrant and scent the midsummer, but the berries and the wood are not to be messed with. Many people used to believe that elder trees and witches were one and the same thing, and for this reason kept elder out of their hedgerows.' from Botanical Folk Tales of Britain and Ireland by Lisa Schneidau. The wonderful things I find while researching for my poetry 🤗 🖋
